Stories Abound
A year by year story of the club, as told by its members

Fall 2000 - Spring 2001 (Jakobo)
It's hard to say how exactly the club started, as I myself hadn't wandered in until about the second or so meeting. It was also a complete accident that I was there, at the right time and at the right place. What would complel someone to walk down to the Student Center on campus on a Tuesday night? Well we didn't have Anime Club yet, so the answer was actually to play a game of pool. Since it's inception, Anime Club has always been on a Tuesday night, and always at 8:15 in the evening, giving people from all over campus time to gather. It's never changed, and I probably doubt it will; people adjust their schedules around it now.

It wasn't quite like it is now though, as every club has to start somewhere. Sheyne Fleischer did the paperwork and meetings with the Student Activity department, and Dave Held helped when the meetings came around. Charles picked up the books as Treasurer, and I (Jakob) ended up as the ICC Representative. None of us really knew what to do, but we were having fun. At the On Campus Admissions Day, we had a beanbag toss, anime playing, and had one of the best displays of the show, and the club went out of their way to do Fanime, a convention in Santa Clara as a club. For many of the people who went to regular club meetings, this was their first convention.

Within the first year, the club had already made a huge impact at CSUMB, and that was just the start of it all.
